The process of credit repair has been shrouded in secrecy, with lawyers and consultants charging hundreds and even thousands of dollars to clean a credit report. Recently, a company even started a multi-level marketing company that sold credit cleaning services via personal networking. The fact is that anyone can clean-up their credit report using a few easy to follow steps, which I cover in my book.
For the purpose of the book, I will explain how to remove the following “derogs” from your credit profile:
Creditor Inquiries
Late pay remarks
Collection Accounts (Accounts Referred To For Collection)
Charge Offs (Accounts Written Off To Loss)
Public Records (Bankruptcies, Tax Liens)”
Just because you are the one being pursued doesn’t mean that you don’t have a way to make the bill collectors have to do their own due diligence. Moreover there are ways to protect your assets from creditors and ways to clear debts without filing bankruptcy. If it does ultimately turn to that, there are things you should know about bankruptcy and this book delves into these facts as well. Answering the questions should I declare bankruptcy, when should I declare bankruptcy, what is the difference between chapter 7 and chapter 13, as well as your attorney’s duties when filing these cases. While these may seem like things which are talked about ad nausea in the news and in other publications, The book breaks it down for you in way that is easy to understand and quick to follow on the fly. What to do if you owe the IRS. Turning the tables on bill collectors and putting them on the defensive.Stop forclosure. Appendix with seventeen letters ready to use.

With the credit crunch that is affecting just about everyone (irrespective of our geographic location), it is good to have a practical book that can guide us through our credit problems.
I am blown away by the openess and honesty of this author. Not many individuals are willing to say that they had financial problems and that is what did it for me with this book. I find that too many books on credit problems are filled with theory but you cannot apply them to real life situations. However, I found this book to be the total opposite. The author goes even a step further by including sample letters in his book, which saves me time searching the internet for templates and the like.
I totally agree with him that financial difficulties can be as devastating as the death of a loved one. Actually, many individuals commit suicide because of financial problems. Let’s hope that by reading this book many more individuals will be able to repair their lives the way he did.
I look forward to seeing another great book from this author.

“What you can do to conquer your credit and debt problems” is a very much needed and relevant book in these difficult times when the economy is still dragging after the deep financial crisis of 2007-2009.
It contains all the basic information about how easily you can fall into debt and what to do to successfully get out of it.
Michael W Newman explains for instance how to remove disturbing remarks from your credit profile, such as creditor inquiries, late pay remarks, collection accounts and bankruptcies.
He presents many form letters which you can use in order to keep the creditors waiting while you are settling your economic situation and he develops many different strategies involved in how to tackle and eliminate debts.
This book is a comprehensive guide and must read for anyone who wishes to have a clean credit profile and for anyone who is striving to get out and to stay out of debt.
It is very educational and written in a staightforward and insightful manner and I highly recommend it to anyone.

Michael W. Newman has written a book for our times, never more relevant than today. The book is loaded with easy to understand basic information explaining not only how you can fall into debt and credit quicksand and how to get out of it, but how they work. There’s plenty of insight into what’s going on at the other end of the phone when you receive that dreaded “We will ruin your credit” call.
There are form letters examples of which are in the chapters and in the appendix. You can adapt them to keep creditors at bay until you can work out your strategy to grab that rope and pull yourself out of the financial muck you stepped into. There are forms to correct information in your credit report, communicate bankruptcy, voiding contracts, etc. Everything you need.
This is a good book to study and a good reference to have handy BEFORE you get into financial hell. I found only one piece of advise I would not recommend, but it’s minor, a matter of personal choice, and isn’t financially important.
The book is easy to read. Don’t look for unnecessary jokes and filler. This book gets to the point fast and stays there. I would have liked to have this information some years ago when I was in credit card hell–11 credit cards with $65,000 of debt. I was just keeping my head above water and managed to pay it all off in full. It would have been so much easier had I the fortune to get my hands on Michael’s book.
I give “What You Can Do To Conquer Your Credit And Debt Problems” a thumbs up.
