This Is Your Time was an easy read with real substance. After decades in the business, it reminded me of things I’d forgotten and handed me a new perspective on a few things I did remember. It’s already helped me deal with a rather prickly client problem. When a good book makes me money, it becomes great.

The book is good for the lesser experienced. It’s applicable to the seasoned financial professional, but isn’t meant to be earth-shattering. The seasoned professional will benefit from it as a reminder of how ethical advisors should treat their clients and their business. And considering the last 2-3 years, it’s clear that some need reminding.

If you’re looking for solid, specific advice on ways to help your financial advising business, then look elsewhere. There wasn’t really anything useful in this book. Maybe the last chapter, “Communicating with clients” was decent. And maybe if you’re new in the business. But if you’ve been doing this for a bit then this is all old news.
